The student understands the phases of the design process through practical work. He/she knows how to work on the basis of a real assignment and in the customer interface. The student can produce the technical documents required in the assignment and monitor their quality. He/she knows how to work independently and in groups depending on the assignment. He/she knows how to apply the English language using the vocabulary of his/her own field of expertise and present the progress and results of the project in English. The project follows the CDIO principles and the implementation of the assignments is done according to the phases of the CDIO process. Detailed topics: Phases of a design process and quality control of the work; Working in the customer interface; Producing technical documents and quality control of the documents; Implementing real assignments; Use of the English language in real situations. Technology-based entrepreneurship in mechanical engineering, business opportunities and entrepreneurship.

K5: Opiskelija osaa käyttää ja soveltaa opintojaksolla opittuja asioita käytännössä sekä käyttää niitä uusissa asiayhteyksissä. Opiskelija kykenee vahvaan itsenäiseen työskentelyyn opintojaksolla opittujen asioiden pohjalta.
