Objective
Competence Goals:After the course student is able to explain the process of comprehensive care of surgical patients, surgical patient care and service chains. The student is familiar with the surgical diagnoses that are most commonly encountered in surgical nursing.
Student will be able to apply the law and ethical points of view and to be cost conscious when working as Surgical Nurse. S/He will be able to combine surgical diseases and cancer diseases and their diagnosis as well as deal with the changes that some specific treatments will bring to the patient’s overall heath care. S/He knows the acute pain management and chronic pain management. S/He will know how to support patients and their loved ones with the manner that is promoting health. S/He will be able to implement and evaluate the patient's nutrition care.
In addition, s/he can make and implement evidence-based surgical nursing plan in cooperation with the patient, his relatives and different professional groups. S/He can take into account the radiation safety of patient care..
