Objective
General aims:
Students will deepen their understanding of educational possibilities, challenges and aspects relating to inclusion and inclusive education, diversity, intercultural issues, indigeneity and culturally responsive pedagogy in the Arctic. After course completion students can implement research based inclusive education and pedagogy. The students can analyse the dilemmas and possibilities in teaching in heterogeneous groups. The specific attention will be paid to the Sámi pedagogy and Indigenous education.

Qualifications
Bachelor studies in education or corresponding studies
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Rejected: The performance is very incomplete or incorrect, or contains significant misunderstandings.
Adequate and satisfactory (1-2): Performance is limited, superficial, or poorly assigned. The performance is limited to listing things in isolation, or dealing with things unilaterally. Execution may contain errors or ambiguities.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Good and applaudable (3-4): Performance corresponds to the assignment, demonstrates understanding and the ability to analyze and justify. You have formed an overall picture, but it may have shortcomings.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Excellent (5): The performance outlines a broad whole and is able to apply information multidimensionally or place it in different contexts. Performance demonstrates independent grip and insight. Performance is an intact entity that includes justified self-thinking or critical reflection. The answer is well written or implemented.
Materials
The literature and other materials will be introduced at the beginning of teaching each module.
Execution methods
The study course is carried out in collaboration with several Nordic universities. The course is carried out as distance teaching via Zoom. The course is carried out as distant teaching. The course platform is Open Moodle. The coordinating teacher will send the instructions before the course starts. The teaching is in English.
