Objective

This 2-day course is meant for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers and focuses on planning your research, writing your thesis and presenting your results in both monograph and article-based dissertations. Students will present the structure of their own research and based on the presentations, practical examples and solutions will be discussed together.

Content

It is essential for both article-based dissertations and monographs to be well planned and clear structure to present the research and the results. What is my research question? How do I divide it into sub-questions in separate articles and how do I develop my main argumentation in the thesis? Who is my audience? How do I keep the reader interested through separate chapters and what is the form and purpose of my summary for the article-based dissertation?

Qualifications

The course is targeted primarily to doctoral and post doctoral researchers at the University of Lapland.
