Satisfactory skills
The student has basic knowledge of cultural issues and is able to use it accordingly. He/she knows basic facts about the Arctic operating environment and is capable of cross-border and multidisciplinary thinking through examples. The student has some understanding of tourism as a global phenomenon but cannot see its impacts in regional and local contexts very clearly. He/she understands the importance of safety issues in the tourism and hospitality business. The student is able to describe briefly, simply and understandably his/her work related issues in Swedish but his/her Swedish skills need improvement. He/she manages work related contacts and customer service in Swedish with assistance. His/her oral and written communication follows the proper style only partly. The student is able to interact in simple everyday situations with assistance in Finnish.
 
Good skills
The student has good knowledge of cultural issues and is able to take them into account in his/her communication. He/she is familiar with the Arctic operating environment and can adopt multidisciplinary and cross-border thinking in his/her own actions. The student understands tourism as a global phenomenon and knows its impacts in regional and local contexts. The student knows how to take safety issues into consideration in the tourism and hospitality business.  The student is able to tell basic facts about work related facts in Swedish. He/she manages quite well in work related contacts and customer service in Swedish. He/she is able to use a proper style in his/her written and oral communication.
 
Excellent skills
The student has excellent knowledge of cultural issues and is able to use this knowledge really well in his/her communication. He/she knows really well the Arctic operating environment and applies multidisciplinary and cross-border thinking in his/her own actions. The student understands tourism as a global phenomenon and its impacts in regional and local contexts. The student is able to understand the importance of safety issues and can apply them in the tourism and hospitality related operations.  The student is able to describe fluently work related facts in Swedish. He/she is fluent in work related contacts and customer service in Swedish and is also able to use a proper style in his/her oral or written communication. The student is able interact in simple everyday situations fluently in Finnish.
