The student develops his/her Finnish language skills.He/she can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.

Must know

- interact in simple and routine everyday and customer service situations

- ask, understand and give simple advice

- understand and reply to simple messages connected to studies and professional life

Should know

- describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need

- present a tourism destination or a trip by using simple structures and vocabulary

The student does not complete the assignments according to instructions or does not attend the learning situations at all. He/she does not pass the assignments and/or the exam as required.

Poor (1)
The student can communicate in simple and routine tasks on familiar and routine matters. He/she can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, travelling, employment). With strong assistance he/she can describe in very simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

Satisfactory (2)
The student can communicate in simple and routine tasks on familiar and routine matters. He/she can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, travelling, employment). With assistance he/she can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
