- tourism as a global phenomenon
- contemporary forms of tourism and consumer behaviour in tourism
- various impacts of tourism in a global, national, regional and local context
- significance of changes in the operating environment
- vision of tourism as an industry where national or regional borders do not form any obstacles for networking and other business operations
- role of international tourism organisations and tourism strategies and development programmes on different levels ( e.g. UNWTO, EU)
- clusters and networks in tourism in global context
- principles of economic sustainability and responsibility

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Satisfactory skills
The student shows basic-level critical, analytical and reflective thinking and practical skills in his/her studies and work-related tasks. He/she is able to understand impacts of tourism in various contexts and changes in the operating environment only partly. He/she is able to understand the basics of economics only partly. He/she is able to find some connection between the world-scale events and changes, and their effects on the local, national and global tourism industry. The student is capable of applying sustainability and responsibility issues only partly being unable to take them to a broader scale. He/she has basic mathematical skills for applying and applying existing knowledge and statistics. All the assignments are performed mostly according to the instructions.
 
Good skills
The student shows critical, analytical and reflective thinking and practical skills in his/her studies and work-related tasks. He/she has excellent knowledge of the basics of economics.  He/she is able to find clear connection between the world-scale events and changes, and fully understand their effects on the local, national and global tourism industry. The student applies his/her knowledge of sustainability and responsibility issues being also able to take them to a broader scale. He/she has excellent mathematical skills for applying and applying existing knowledge and statistics. All the assignments are performed according to the instructions.
